What a Lovely Week

Well, I have just had a blast this week! As you may or may not know, it was my Spring Break! I spent everyday with my Calvin. (= It was lovely. And, as a result, I have lots of snapshots to share with you all. (Well, all 2 of my followers. So glad to be moving up to 2 instead of 1!)

Before I left school on Friday I managed to snap a picture of my giraffe mask. It now has horns and shape to the top of its head. It's really coming along well. I should be able to finish it up next week! Uber excited!

Also at school on Friday, we made these adorable roosters in my sewing class! It took just a class period (70 minutes) to crank out one of these cuties! And most of that time was devoted to cutting.

My new sandals from Gojane finally arrived. It took over a week, and I found out that UPS had delivered them to my neighbors! They've already been worn quite a few times.

Calvin dropped myself and his sister off at the mall while he went to play laser tag with his buddies. I picked up this dress at the Merrillville mall. They opened a new Akira store there! I remember going to the Akira store in Chicago and now they are branching out to the suburbs of Chicago! Yay! I believe I bought this on sale for $30. Everything was super cute in the store, but expect to pay between $40-$65 for a dress.

The 1963 Cleopatra starring Elizabeth Taylor is on Netflix! I love Elizabeth Taylor, so I sat and watched about an hour of the movie. I have seen the whole movie previously, but it's 4 hours long. I just didn't have time to sit there and veg out in front of the tv that day.

Arista Marie is a cute sleeper. (=

I FINALLY got my eyebrows done!!!!!!
Oh, and my hair is redder. (;

Saturday I went bowling at Inman's in Valparaiso with my boyfriend. I had to capture this moment! It was our first game and I smoked him! I ended up winning the second game 113 to 105. I really liked the bowling ball that I had that day. Those were the best scores since after prom last year where I had a 131 after bowling for hours!

Hope your week was as great as mine!

Not so Tressed Up Thursday

Normally this time of week I would do a Tressed Up Thursday post, but something super exciting happened this weekend that I must share!
I have been on the hunt for a portable record player for months. All I can find are the console ones, and seriously, what teenager has the space for that in their messy bedrooms?? So Tuesday Calvin took me to a small antique store in Valparaiso. Really, there wasn't much there, but I did buy some earrings. Then we headed back to Maw Maw's house. (This woman is like EVERYONE's grandma) I told Cal that I wanted to go antiquing some more. Then Maw Maw told us about a place just outside of Michigan City. We went. I DIED. It was antique heaven. I was so giddy and excited. Calvin couldn't stop laughing at me. He said I was like a kid in a candy store. This place was HUGE. Everything there caught my eye. There was tons of vintage clothing, but I was on the hunt for a record player with only 20 minutes until the store closed. Corner after corner, no luck. Until finally I found it!!

And I snatched it up for only $68. When we headed back I decided to use my boyfriend's laptop to see if I had got a good deal. One had sold on Ebay for $230!! The good news is that mine is in great shape and still works fine. (=
Along with the player I bought two records.

The Chicago album is actually two records. (=
I am so excited and cannot wait to expand my record collection!!
PS. Today I went to Betty's Snip n Sew to try on my prom dress. This was the first time I was able to zip it all the way up! And I must say, I feel/look like a Disney princess!

Spring Time Makeup

So it's still Spring Break and I have barely been home! I'm trying to find the time to keep my posts updated, but it's difficult. Today I went fishing and 4-wheeling at Calvin's dads again today. We saw some REALLY big fish in the pond, but they weren't biting. Tomorrow we're taking a nice slow canoe ride through the state park and Cal plans on fishing too. (= But on with the normal stuff now:
Yellow is my favorite color. (=

How beautiful would this be?

I love how the bright blue is somehow subtle.

This would be a fun one to try! There are lots of variations on this too.

I'm uber excited for tomorrow and this Saturday will have TONS of snapshots!! (=

SPRING BREAK

Woo hoo! It's my Spring break. (= Next week I plan on canoeing, fishing, and hanging out with Calvin A LOT. I've been really busy finishing up all of the assignments that teachers like to assign right before Spring break, so I'm sorry that I did not post on Wednesday or Thursday, but I am going to continue today with my Tressed Up Thursday post. I knew what I wanted to do, but I never had time to do it!! So you will all have to wait next week for another Fad Friday. Sorry. =/

Last week I posted a bunch of inspiring hair photos. The above one is the hairstyle that I actually attempted last week!

I did an okay job with this hairstyle. Despite a ton of hairspray, my curls fell out while I was in school so I had this messy nasty side ponytail. And I went to work with it like that. How freaking fantastic is that? Grrr.
Anyways, hope you're having a great week!

Mix Up

So I was just going to post the boring outfit I wore today, but I found some photos of when I was wearing my black lace 60's dress. The photos I took today included my little brother and dog though. So I decided to mix the two. (=

Black 60's dress: Etsy
Belt: Goodwill Rochester, IN
Jacket: Rue21
Shoes: Aldo
Necklace: Shirley Hettinger (Ha. (= )

^^Emma Mae (= ^^
Black tank top: Vanity
Lace shirt: Rue21
Jeans: Old Navy
Sunglasses: Pacsun

I didn't have time to edit my photos today. I had to make a run to Logansport earlier today for some elastic for the pajama pants I am making in my sewing class. I also treated myself to a pedicure while there. Seriously, I get pedicures just for the foot massage. (=
Anyways, today was a really laid back JEANS day!

How do you wear your favorite vintage tops? I never buy any because I have no clue how to style them!

Pink

Pink eyes. Pink eye shadow really looks great on blue eyes. It really brings out that blue. I love pink eye shadow for this reason. My eyes are hazel and change between blue and green. (Calvin's are the same exact color. How strange is that?) But this Monday I have some ideas for awesome pink makeup.

This one is a little dramatic and Barbie-esque. I do believe it is a photo from MAC's Barbie line actually.

Pink and black is always a great combo!

I'm not too sure how well this would work to bring out blue because of the purple. Purple brings out green eyes, but this is still a neat idea.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE this look! It's so simple and subtle and that's what makes it so beautiful.
I may take a crack at this look tomorrow unless, of course, I sleep through my alarm again like I did this morning and didn't even have time to put my contacts in!
Do you have a certain eye shadow color that you just love to wear?

Sleep Over!

I am combining Saturday and Sunday this week because I spent the night with my boyfriend and his sister and his best friend at his dad's house. It was a giant sleep over, but I was one of the first to pass out. I was tired having just gotten out of work. So tonight I give you:
Snapshot Satunday!! (=

60's dress <3

Giraffe mask that I have been working SO hard on in class!

Green eye shadow for St. Patty's day!

My corned beef and cabbage in form of a reuben, yum!

Everyone at work expo-ed their t-shirts so they would be green!
I also went fishing for the FIRST TIME EVER at Calvin's dad's pond. Another first was riding a 4-wheeler.

Overall, I had a great weekend!! I hope yours was just as awesome!
