First Photo Post!

Shoes: Shoe Show (Not entirely sure?)

Yay! My first photo post! I know it's not that great, but hey, no one is around to be my own personal photographer. I could con my little brother into taking my photos, but they may turn out pretty bad. He is only 8 afterall. This dress was one of my most recent purchases. I bought it online from my favorite vintage clothing website. A majority of my old dresses come from Rusty Zipper! My boyfriend absolutely loved this dress. Some people say it reminds them of a diner dress.
Yesterday I went to Goodwill in Rochester with my bestie. She didn't buy anything, but she went along for support. Haha. I tried on this absolutely hideous black lace western dress just for kicks and giggles. She has a picture of it on her cell phone and maybe I will post it on here sometime just for a good laugh. It was so UGLY! Anyways, I ended up buying my FIRST 80's dress! It's bright blue, body hugging, and it has shoulder pads! I wore it to school today. Again, some people don't understand my style. People are still asking me why I'm so dressed up or why I am wearing a grandma dress. Ohhh well. I can deal with it! At the end of my thrifting day I got that dress, a pair of shoes, a purse, and a scarf for under 11 bucks! I love thrifting. (=

SCHOOL!

Blah! I haven't been able to post in soooo long. School has got me busy. =/ So far it's been a busy senior year. I've had homework every night, and I was rushing to finish my AP english book that I was supposed to have read this summer. Oops.(= Now I'm done with that book, but I just keep getting homework! And I've had golf meets. I really need to find time to get some pictures up here. I shall try, but unfortunately it is raining today! I either need a photographer or I need to find a way to get a good picture all by my lonesome.
Anywho, I was going to go golfing at the par 3 course in Logansport tomorrow, but now I feel the need to go thrifting. Now the question is which Good Will? Rochester or Logansport? Hmmmm. If I go to Logansport then I can maybe hit up the antique stores. If I go to Rochester, maybe I can hang out with my cousin. Sometimes shopping alone is BORING. Yet, no one shares my love of vintage around here.
Speaking of no one sharing my love of vintage around here, here's a "compliment" I got today. It went a little like this, "I love your dresses. I wouldn't wear them, but you can pull it off. I couldn't. I'd be a weirdo." Hmmm....not sure if that is a true compliment? That's not the first time something really similar to that has been said.
Anywho, I'm going to try to be better at this!

Trip to the Antique Store!

A few weeks ago I found myself wandering around the town of Logansport. I was in town to hit up the jewelry store. (I lost a clip off of my Pandora bracelet! $35 replacement too!) Before I even got over to the jeweler I decided to stop in the Leather & Knot Mall. This antique store has been there since I was a kid. I figured I'd give it a shot. Even if I didn't find any vintage clothing, I still appreciate other antique items. I walked in and this place is just LOADED with stuff! Wall to wall antiques. Of course one of the first things my eyes were drawn to was a vintage purse, and, of course, I snatched it up and bought it! It only cost $9.10! I thought that it was maybe an early 60's purse, but the owner seems to think it may even be from the late 50's. The outside appears to be missing a few beads, but really it's in great shape. The inside lining is torn a little, but who's going to see that really? (= And it does have an antique smell. I tried spraying it with body mist, but that didn't exactly work so well. Here are the pictures:

The shop owner of the Leather & Knot Mall pointed me in the direction of another antique store up the road. Unfortunately, it was closed. I got a peek into the windows and it seemed to have some really neat stuff! I'm hoping it will be open sometime when I go back to Logan.
As for that torn lining, last week a water balloon exploded on the top of a picnic table that it was sitting on. The water cascaded over my purse, but amazingly, everything inside was mostly dry. Mostly. Of course my camera was slightly damp. No damage was done. (=

Back to School Time!

Oh yes, back to school. This is my LAST YEAR! I can finally move on from this stupid town and all of it's crazy drama! I go back tomorrow and I am not looking forward to it. Of course, two days ago I started to feel a little sick. I thought maybe it was just allergies, but today I'm thinking that it may be a cold. After golf practice today I stopped by to pick up my little brother from my grammy's and she has a cold now. I'd feel soooo bad if I was the one to give it to her. =/ I tried not to.
On the upside I ordered an awesome school bag from Etsy yesterday! It definitely will not be here before tomorrow. It's coming from Latvia. The shipping cost was $12.50! So in the end the bag ended up costing me around $65. It's a really neat leather bag from the 70's. There will definitely be another post about it with pictures. I could try to describe it, but that might be a bit confusing. The way it opens is really unique. It's a really neat bag and I am SO excited to get it! I will once again become a mail stalker.(=
