This weekend Calvin was in town. I had $50 burning a hole in my pocket. My favorite vintage shop that I talk about often, AZ Vintage posted a beauty of a photo on their Facebook page. It was a 50's dress similar to my black and purple taffeta, full skirted dress. When the owner posted the measurements and it was in my size, I knew that I at least had to go try the beauty on.
The next day Calvin took me to the shop. I tried on one other dress before asking her to take the one I really had my eye on off the mannequin. (I feel bad asking her to take it off the mannequin. I know they can't be much fun to dress!) When I came out of that dressing room everyone had something positive to say. Even the shop owner.
As I was paying she was telling me about the lady that had brought the dress to her. She said that she was reluctant to give it up, but it didn't fit her anymore. Completely understandable. I told the shop owner to let the lady know that the dress will be loved and cherished and worn well!
Also, I'm on the hunt for a crinoline. I have too many full skirts and no crinolines!
Can't wait to wear this beauty once it warms up just a little more!
